The idea of Materials Girls first arose in 2022 and officially became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2023. The goal of Materials Girls is to teach young girls about an often male-dominated field of engineering: materials science and engineering. I started this nonprofit to help spark a passion for STEM and learning in areas where women are typically underrepresented.
